GREDOS: La Catedral Ridge

Lenght, approach, difficulty, atmosphere… La Catedral Ridge must be taken seriously and with respect. It’s isolated, almost 800 m long, requires some thin climbing and technical abseils and ends in a real summit, Gran Galayo (2,216 m high), the highest peak of Los Galayos.

Climbing is for real, no easy scrambling. You really need to climb several IV+ sections and master complex rope techniques to move efficiently on this technical ridge. It’s old school Gredos mountaineering as its best.

It’s definitely a one-of-a-kind that can only compared with the best ridges in the Pyrenees, such as Salenques-Tempestades.

If you are into ridges La Catedral should definitely be in your wish list. Do not hesitate to contact us and enjoy this guided great adventure with our expert guides!
