PALENTINA: Best Winter Climbs in Curavacas and Espigüete

Espigüete (2450 m.) and Curavacas (2520 m.) are two large stone masses that suddenly emerge from the Castilian-Leonese plateau. Unjustly eclipsed by its neighbours Picos de Europa, these mountains hide some magnificent winter climbs in which you can taste an almost solitary mountaineering.

We offer you several routes to climb this peaks. In Espigüete, the Northeast Corridor, East ridge or its North Couloir, and in Curavacas, The South Couloir, or its valued Diagonal route of the North-East Face are climbs that without being very difficult, have everything needed for a great mountaineering adventure: steepness, atmosphere, some exposure and magnificent views.

Climbing both peaks on consecutive days can be a great experience that we can certainly help you with. After this climbs you will ask yourself … why didn’t I come to this place earlier?
